I AM HERE

The ethnic significance of the afro-comb only us woolly haired people. Symbolise Blackness specifically black that is westernised or unconscious to our true history. How our diasporic experiences and ancestry has poisoned how we view ourselves as inferior. Only afro hair requires an afro-comb, only black people have afro hair and having need for one these days implies your blackness is the centre of your consciousness rather than conforming to societal pressures to conform to the Western view of Blackness and its conditioning of blacks throughout history.

I am Here as I am, receive me in my truth.

‘I am here, si me here, I was here, I am everywhere, I was here now mi disappear. ‘

The Harder they Come, 1972.
