Used to explore themes of home, memory and identity to encapsulate and reinforce ideas of class, status and cultural affiliations.
Wallpaper gaining most of its popularity as the British Empire expanded through the 18th-20th century using this narrative to challenge colonial construct which is an ever-present issue in our society particularly in places whose function should be to encourage freedom of thought, decolonize the space! Does a white wall suffice?
